Weekly Horoscope for Leo Summary
Today I Start my Life Anew...
It is football season again.... Our Neighbor, (Mr. McGroder) lived a few houses up from us... He brought this football team called the Buffalo Bills to Buffalo NY... Mr. McGroder was a sales guy who sold restaurant equipment if i remember right... I didn't know him that well, I was just the paper-boy.... but Mrs. McGroder was funny and fantastic.. she was like an angel to me...!! So calm, and peaceful... She really loved my mom, she'd walk down the street and hang out(I think on occasion they'd drink a few beers together) hehe...... hehe... and Mrs McGroder loved my Aunt Betty too... It would be impossible not to love my Aunt Betty...
Mr. McGroder would give my brother Kenny and I, those glossy 8x10 autographed
photos of the players... We were the paper-boys of the street... The best part would be every now and then, was that the players would play 'catch' on the street with us, when they'd be over visiting Mr. McGroder... Guys like Jack Kemp... Daryl Lamonica... and OJ Simpson... Tom Sustack... Ernie Warlick... Future NFL All Stars... And those guys were so incredible, laid back and nice to us...THe best words you could ever hear from them say would be 'go long'...
We'd run down the street... And 80 yards away you'd catch the ball... And in your head, there'd be 80,000 people cheerin' for you... But in reality it was kinda silent... hehe... But the guys that threw the ball.. They knew you did your job and caught it... Freakin' Magic... These guys inspired us in ways you would never expect... Gotta believe in yourself they'd say... Truth to be told, at the time we didn't have a clue what they were talkin' about... hehe... But we'd nod like we did... hehe.... Years later, it all make sense...They weren't famous when we knew 'em... They were just regular guys.
Come to think about it... If there ever was the 'magical' street to live on, it had to be "Larchmont" in the land of Buff... hehe... (allenhurst where I live, 2 streets away, is way cool too)... hehe... The bands, the artists... The people... This (buffalo) is where they all hang out... Cause it's real... Ain't no fuss...
