They might not have much to say on the matter, but when it gets down to it, they're the ones that have the best handle on situations.

Obviously, in the grand scheme of things, it's better to be in that second group of people. This however requires a great deal of effort. Are you doing the right things needed in order to be successful? Are you making sure to get things accomplished, rather than finding reasons and excuses to explain shortcomings away? Ask yourself these questions and see if you're doing more talking than doing. Moving from one task to another quickly helps avoid the types of scenarios where you can get yourself down in the dumps.
