The challenge of modern life is to find the right things to aspire to. When you don't have adequate goals, you tend to languish around without purpose and people weren't built to have no purpose. A lot of the funky things you see people doing these days, where they seem to put a ton of effort that others might find pointless, is generally in that quest for purpose. We elevate the importance of things to fill a specific void that makes us feel necessary to the world in the grand scheme of things.

Where the current energy gets tricky is in the bar that's set for us to feel like we're having an impact. In general, people spend too much time exposed to outside media these days, which leaves us comparing ourselves often to "famous" people - maybe not celebrities these days, but people with social media presences, or people who've exceled in a particular field we have interest in. Often now we aren't comparing ourselves to our peers, people like us, but to outliers.

Most times, we take this with a grain of salt and normalize for our settings, but the current energy can cause people to be more upset when they aren't the one standing out above the crowd. If you can use that to drive you forward, great. But the thing is you can't let it break you down or cause you to get depressed about your current situations. With most things in life, it comes down to how much importance you place on things as an individual. If you're meeting your own expectations for yourself, you should feel good about that. And if you aren't, this is a time to ask yourself if you've set the bar too high and should be chasing more intermediate goals as a means to grow. Incremental progress is better than no progress at all. Best of luck.

You can be very me-first when it comes to what activities you want to do, especially since you'll tend to build up these activities in your mind before you actually do them. Problems can tend to creep in when you're too adamant that things are done your way though; while you're going to want to maintain your comfort zones, you might have to step outside of them occasionally if you want to involve others. You might also want to be smart about what you do around the house; while you might want to take on a big project right now, it might be something that takes awhile and leaves you in a state of disarray until you've wrapped it up.
