Today’s chart is about the work vs. play dynamic. It’s summer. People want to be out and about enjoying themselves, participating in fun activities and doing things like that. But there are still responsibilities to take care of. This is where things tend to get stressful. There can be lots of opportunities for procrastination here. And you might want to schmooze with people who might help you get a leg up as well. But it comes time to finally take care of the things you need to do, you might find that you’ve run out of time, or you missed specific details or were ill-prepared in other ways, grinding things to a halt.

You also have to remember that here you might tend to treat wants as if they were needs. A common line might be “I work hard; I deserve to have a little fun”, but that’s only really true if you can go off without a whole bunch of stuff falling apart on you. Otherwise, you still have to tend to your responsibilities.

Coming into play as well is the fact that Saturn went direct this past weekend. If “boss types” weren’t looking over your shoulder before, they will be now. So every misstep can come with added scrutiny, and if you open the door, you might have people meddling in certain areas of your affairs that you don’t want them in. It can also create tension and conflict between you and people on different levels of the chain. So your best bet is to get what you need to get done up front. You might look out the window from your office and see people playing ultimate Frisbee in the park, and sigh and say “I wish that was me,” but it’s the ultimate Frisbee players who will probably have a pile of stuff to deal with later, and the acrimonious responses from others to have to answer to. The things you have to accomplish today probably aren’t going to give you a lot of fulfillment. There can be a lot of menial responsibilities mixed in, and at times you might be making sacrifices for others that you aren’t going to see pay off for you in the long run. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give things your all though. This is one of those transits that might not earn you much beyond the appreciation of others, but these things get remembered when it’s you who needs a hand.
