For those who are unprepared, things can become a big hassle, and there may be a lot of problems to dig yourself out of.

While it might be annoying, the big thing you can do for yourself is follow up on things others are supposed to be doing. Don’t leave anything to assumption. Make sure people are doing what they are supposed to, and that you are doing what you are supposed to. It’s going to be important to have back up plans lingering in your mind, and this energy will benefit the people that put in the extra effort in communications and are the most prepared mentally. If you can have all of your ducks in a row, you can avoid some of the pitfalls others will run into. Best of luck.

You might have a bit of power and clout, but if you step over others, they’ll remember than and hold it against you in the future. If you do have to act opposite the wishes of others, at least take it upon yourself to rationalize to them why you’re doing what you’re doing – this understanding might help them see your point.
