Sometimes the creative juices get flowing and we can come up with all sorts of new ideas about things. At times this can work to our advantage, at others, some of the ideas we come up aren’t really all that great and we kick them over to the scrap pile. This energy might leave us with more of the scrap pile variety ideas.

The tricky part, and what you’re going to have to watch out for, is the fact that when you do have a new idea, you can tend to fall in love with it instantly. It’s the best idea you’ve ever had, and you want to roll with it immediately, because you can’t let others get the jump on your super-awesome great idea that will change everything. This is where the trouble lies. You might actually have a trash-heap idea, but whereas normally you’d stew on it for a little bit, or run it by others, and the process of letting it simmer exposes its flaws, now you can hit the accelerator and try to make a bad idea into reality. This is why we have 257 channels on TV that no one watches. So instead of becoming the day’s laughing stock infomercial, make sure to instill that “patience period” on any new concepts before you’ve had a chance to think about them further or talk about them with others. Because you can be more impulsive here, often you’re going to seek to get the ball rolling on certain things without having a good sense of all of the details. You might try to fit more than you can handle into your schedule, which leaves things undone at the end of the day. To combat this, you need to overcome this lack of trust you may have of others around you. You need to isolate things that they can do well, hand them off to them and let them get to work so you can have enough time to tackle your own endeavors.
