Welcome to 2012. As we head into the new year, we're in the midst of a bit of a lull in the astrological activity. There's decent separation between the planets for the most part, and this is going to lessen the intensity we'll see in our lives a good deal. So try to think about things in terms of a blank slate. You can capture your footing, rededicate yourself to new goals and this can also provide us with a time to recuperate from previous stresses.

For today, we'll still feel some lingering effects from this weekend's Mars-Mercury connection, so there can still be some heightened emotions, and might have a spat or two whenever previous issues haven't been dealt with. But this will diminish over the course of the day, and things should gradually fade back into a more calm state. Be sure to turn your eyes forward to the potential that the new year has in store. The emotional side of things can come through when you speak with others. You might be prone to some situations where you can make a mountain out of a molehill, but in general you can avoid getting in too deep in this regard, and even if you do, you'll tend to correct yourself later on. At the same time though, you don't want to bottle things up, and you'll tend to feel better and less stressed out if you can get some of your worries out into the open.
