Daily Horoscope for Aquarius Summary

Today’s scope is about belief, but not belief in a spiritual sense; it’s more about the belief we have in what other people say to us. When we are young, constructs are built so that we believe what others are telling us. And to a large extent, this is necessary: If your mom says Don’t touch the hot stove, you should believe her, because she’s looking out for you. A lot of our education and early growth is predicated on this level of trust.

However, as life moves on, we get into adulthood. We maintain some semblance of this belief in what people in authoritarian positions or parental roles tell us. A lot of it can be on point. But not all of it is. Just because someone may be smarter than you or more experienced than you doesn’t mean they have all of the answers. So it never hurts to challenge something that doesn’t make a lot of sense to you. Either that person will reaffirm or prove what they were talking about, or maybe they take their own second look at it and see maybe they made a miscalculation somewhere.

In psychology, there is this thing called Dunning-Kruger effect. Really simplified, it means that the more ignorant and incompetent someone is, the more likely they are to be confident in what they are doing. This is the type of idea that should be circulating through your heads today. Ask yourself when you’re doing things if you’re being too confident that everything is going to plan. Are you making assumptions when things aren’t set in stone just yet? Are you trusting others to provide you with quality information, but not putting in the effort to do at least some basic sanity checking? If so, this is the type of event that will lead to things not going as they should. Question everything. Even if the source seems legit, you should still scrutinize everything. Look for things to prove or disprove your points. But above all, keep an active mind. The energy will reward the ones who think things through the most.

Anyways, apologies for lack of individual scopes today; I have a couple of things to sort out at the day job today before I can go on vacation so I have to get to it. Happy Thanksgiving!
